o White light protection – ask your child to imagine they are surrounded by a bright white fluffy cloud. Good spirits can come through the cloud and bad spirits cannot.
o Mirrors – ask your child to imagine they are surrounded by mirrors facing outwards. Mirrors bounce back good energy to whoever sends it and negative energy back to whence it came!
o Angel Guards – ask your child to imagine a very large and powerful angel standing behind them. No spirit can come close unless the angel gives permission. Let the child name their angel.
Helping your child feel safe in their room
o Add a figure of protection - something simple like a pretty picture of an angel or an angel figurine to sit upon a shelf. (This gives permission for higher energy beings like angels to protect the child and the room.)
o Help the child choose a crystal to stand by the bed (make sure it is of a suitable size for their age - not too small, and keep it safe from pets.
o Play ‘angel-type’ or classical music in the room. Pray together at night and together ask angels to watch over them.
Dear Jacky
My son has been seeing my Dad for as long as he could see and speak. He never met my Dad in life because Dad passed away a week after my son was born. He has told us various things that have happened and what his Grandpa has said.
He has obviously grown to love his Grandpa very much and in the past has been puzzled as to why we can't see him too. We explained to him that my dad is now an angel and lives in the stars.
One day he has told me that Grandpa hasn't been to see him in a while and he misses him. Bedtime is when Granddad used to visit before.
Could you advise me what to say to him if my father doesn't come back so that I can help him understand and not be too upset. My grandson is 4 years old. Thank you so much.
Diane
- so further to go and harder to hold your breath! You get the idea!)
You could tell your son that Grandpa has meetings and is now visiting his friends in heaven (or having a party - because in its simplest form, this is true!) Imagine those big reunions in the sky!
Grandpa will still be aware of your son, especially when he is needed , but your son probably won't see him so often (he's still there, but its like he lives further away now). Perhaps a photograph of Grandpa by the bed will be comforting?
I hope this helps a little. He is a very lucky boy to have seen his Grandpa at all. Do help him to keep these memories alive by talking about them often.

Send me your question
Hi Diane
It’s strange how young children take these things in their stride so much that if the experiences stop they are upset!
It’s hard to know how to help but sometimes our loved ones are moving up and on in their own spiritual development and so are further from the earth plane. It becomes harder for them to reach us (like if we are at the bottom of a deep swimming pool - they have to hold their breath for a long time to reach us at the bottom. If they move up to the higher realms it’s as if the swimming pool becomes deeper
Dear Jacky
My child wakes up frightened at night because he says he can see a ghost in his room. What can I do?
Pete
Dear Pete
Many children wake up in the night. This might be caused by any number of reasons including nightmares or just the urge to visit the toilet. Every shadow is not going to be a ghost but that doesn’t mean that some sort of spirit activity isn’t present in the room…it just might be.
Keep an open mind but do appear in command of the situation at all times. You are the adult and if you are not worried the most likely, neither will your child be.
